CASTING CALL FOR MOVEMENT PARTICIPANTS

Project Title: Blue Lagoon (Directed by Alex Culshaw)

Shoot Location: Nottingham Trent University (NTU) –  Virtual Production Studio

Shoot Dates: 19/20 August- exact call time TBC

Rate of Pay: £150 / Day Lunch Provided (flat rate, up to 8 hours including lunch/breaks)

About the Project

Blue Lagoon is an artist film that explores how personal and collective experience is held within shifting landscapes.

The project juxtaposes an industrial coastline with club culture. 

The Scene & The Technology

We are filming an imagined, dreamlike club sequence utilising NTU’s state-of-the-art Virtual Production Studio (featuring a massive 9x4m LED video wall). Instead of a traditional physical set, the LED screen will display pulsing, abstract visual textures and the studio will build lighting environments. This is an experimental film shoot to generate new footage. 

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking Extras / Movement Participants (Aged 18+) based in or near Nottingham.

• No professional dance or movement training is required.
• We are looking for people with great energy, a love for dancing, club culture and who feel comfortable moving freely and responding to music on camera. 
• The Music Vibe: The scene will be shot to a 120+bpm, so you can expect an electronic house/ techno-adjacent soundtrack. Please be comfortable dancing to repetitive, driving electronic rhythms! 
• PLEASE NOTE FLUORESCENT AND FLASHING LIGHTS, STROBES, SMOKE MACHINE AND PROJECTION WILL BE USED. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS.

Styling & Dress Code

We will ask you to bring/wear a variety of black and white T-shirt tops, vests, jeans/trousers. Anything you’d go to a rave in, flat shoes. Something you feel comfortable in.
